In the heart of the Sierra de Huelva, in the picturesque village of Cortegana, El Castillo de Mi Madre has undertaken the complete interior design of an exceptional residence. This project pays homage to traditional Andalusian architecture — with its cool patios, whitewashed walls and golden light — whilst infusing it with modern elegance and absolute comfort.
Interior Design:
Our design focused on enhancing the interior spaces to create a seamless connection between the reception areas and the private gardens. We favoured local, authentic materials: terracotta floors, exposed beams and hand-painted azulejos. Each room has been designed to capture the freshness and serenity characteristic of the grand houses of southern Spain.
The furniture in this residence comes exclusively from workshops in Spain, located nearby in Andalusia. We have opted for hammered wrought iron for the light fittings and console tables, as well as glazed ceramic pieces in shades of azure and ochre. This finely crafted furniture, combined with natural linen textiles and precious wood finishes, gives the house a handcrafted feel and timeless sophistication.
